Emma LaCava is thrilled to be in her dream role as the Social Catering Sales Manager and Wedding Specialist at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel. She has worked on every element that makes up the wedding day, and she is excited to bring the elements together and plan the perfect day for you.
When she is not helping couples plan their dream wedding, Emma enjoys reading, baking and all kinds of crafting. She also adores the world of live performances spanning from musical theater to rock concerts. If you need help with your reception playlist, she is your girl!
What is your “dream” wedding menu?
An Italian feast! Gnocchi for the first course, choice of Chicken Parmesan, Seasonal Vegetable Risotto or Braised Short Rib for second course, platters of Italian cookies and a giant wedding cake (chocolate cake with white frosting) for dessert. Of course, I would want a late-night snack of freshly filled cannoli.
What is one thing that most couples forget when planning their wedding?
This is supposed to be fun! You are throwing a big party with all of your family and friends to celebrate your love for one another. Tune out all of the opinions on what a wedding should be and focus on what you are excited about.
What is one of your favorite places to show people when looking at The Marlowe?
Lechemere Canal Park. Having a gorgeous outdoor space steps from the hotel to host a wedding is a privilege few places in the city are granted. I love the water view and the canopy of trees that create this semi private outlet.
Favorite Hors D’ Oeuvre on the menu?
The prosciutto and mozzarella arancini with lemon aioli. Growing up in an Italian family, arancini has always been one of my favorite savory treats.
How do you approach the planning of weddings?
I take a couple-centered approach to the planning of weddings. I love putting together weddings that express a couple's unique love story. This is their day, so as long as they are happy, I am happy.
What is your favorite non-traditional wedding add-on?
A live portrait painter. These artists who are painting your ceremony in the moment are incredibly impressive. Then, in addition to the gorgeous pictures from your photographer, you have a centerpiece to hang in your new shared home.
What was your first job in the wedding industry?
I was a Bridal Stylist for David's Bridal. The reveal of the dress is still one of my favorite moments of a wedding!
